sunrise

I saw the sun rising, soon after 5 AM. Grey clouds with pink colors around the edges, and blue sky.

June 2

The pattern of clouds is beautiful, with plenty of room for light. No wind, branches are still.

June 2
I watch the sky
wait for the sun

hosta plants grow

hosta plants grow
around the ash tree stump
an abundance of health
and new green

as if to say
we knew you would not
last the storm
we are here

there is new beauty now
new hope and a new time

last year this year

last year
I missed seeing
daffodils in the yard

they bloom for all
sheltered and strong
by the house

this year
I make a special effort
to see them again

to be sure not to miss them

tulips seem gone
perhaps can plant again
in the fall

and along the old path
primroses

from my archives:

they ask to be
in this poem
daffodils

sunrise
daffodils bowed by rain
recover
