garden notes

birch tree branch
outside my study
window

many new leaves
and another part
of the branch
that seems gone
yet visited by a bird
this morning

lilacs almost in bloom
and violets by the door

grey stillness

grey stillness

evergreen branches
are a painting
and I can see
the shape
of each branch

Easter lily
continues to bloom
and fragrance
blesses the room
