September Beauty

There are a few more gold leaves on our birch tree. A few poems from my September archives:

stars in the night
and colors
of garden mums
in the rain . . .
new poems begin

golden sun
on gold leaves
unconditional love

seagulls
down the beach
silver in the sky

and more

July

time
of daylilies and hosta
July

flowers
begin to form
early July

with all the ways
life can change
still they bloom
every year
daylilies and hosta

Short Poems About Birds

birds in the painting
from the thrift store
forever in flight

how small the song
of an unknown bird
quiet memories

in the backyard
birds back
and singing
never too old
to find this new

bluebirds
truly so blue
trustworthy friends

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

pink clouds
span the horizon
seagulls take flight
stretching to read
new books

afternoon rain
seagulls on pilings
wait to fly again
