ROSE acrostic poem

old roses
now in bloom
a few petals fall
from the blue vase
caught by a poem

Published by SMILE, 2011.

different shapes
of the rose bush
and lilacs in the yard
they grew towards
the light

nothing could be

My poem is from May 2013.

nothing could be
more beautiful
than the trees
and their new leaves
beginning
except for when
they are in full
summer green
and then turn
their autumn colors
and then are their
wise winter selves
waiting for spring
again

quiet hours

quiet hours
of reading
before dawn

reflection
of a lamp
in the window

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

many times

many times
I thought life
would go a certain way
and then it went
another way

yet I pray the Psalms
read poems by
many writers
and work around
the house

look forward
to how the light falls
this time of year
trust in a wiser
and deeper plan

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

Psalm 18:1 (KJV)

Poem today by Ellen Grace Olinger

light

old garage
in morning light
view from kitchen window

today

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations
