Easter And Spring Poetry

Easter And Spring Poetry is a small site where I am creating some posts for Lent and Easter 2020. Some of your favorite poems are shared again. Last year, I posted there from February to May 2019. I will see what poems I have written since then that may be good to reprint in a new way as well. And perhaps even some new poems!

Creative Notes, Poems, and Photos

One day this winter, Karl and I went to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This has been on our list for some time. We enjoyed our visit and the people working there were so helpful.

Another visit to Mead Public Library in Sheboygan is also on our list.

And our Oostburg Public Library “A Little Library Growing Everyday.”

A note of gratitude: as I think over the years, my heart is touched by the kindness of people as I have grown older and experienced some health challenges. Some poems from my archives reflect this theme.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5: 7 (KJV)

two poems

some days
I read a little more
with my heart
and let my mind rest

different writers
and their gifts
with many forms

poems, novels,
letters, stories
blog posts

another day
or even year
I will reread and

understand a little
more about craft
and what I learned
from the author

yes, this is the gift
of growing older
all that can be kept
in the heart

grown to new art

Today – still love the mystery of learning. I may read a poet for comfort and wisdom, and later reread and study the craft. “Oh, I see – wonderful.” And meanwhile, a good way to pass the time when I need more rest. Light for a new life-lesson.

far from perfect
and in need of grace
we found our way
to unconditional love

In Loving Memory: Poems for my Parents

My parents both had January birthdays. Many years since their passings, yet I am aware of their love in a simple way. My mother lived many years beyond my father’s death. She volunteered at a nursing home and taught English at a church to people new to our country. My father was a veteran and they were both teachers.

Taking turns
Letting each other go
Only to learn again
How love grows,
Mother

love for you
became her care
until she joined you there
grief gives way to fields and wind
and now I hear your voice again

My poems were published in Bell’s Letters.

Happy New Year

I looked at my “Stats for 2019.” After “Home page/Archives” my acrostics for Reading, Library, and Rain are the most read poems.

We are grateful for all the readers, from so many countries, who visit the blog. Thank you and blessings for the New Year and always.
