Poems and Photos

as if they could
store the sun
small blankets
on a chair
add color to
the scene
as they await
to warm
another time

rereading poems
new layers of meaning
every year
all the colors
of any given day

winds and warmth
summer reaching its fullness
after the longest day
in the North

wildflowers grow
by fields of corn
words of poetry
uplift my soul
keep me strong

Poems are from July 2014, and still true this July.
