zinnia-bouquet

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

dragonfly rests
for a moment
on the tree branch
long enough for me
to see each wing

reading the poets
of my parents’
generation
their voices
return

  1. That was my sentiment too–a winding back through time which is really still present.
    All of these short poems are thoughtful and linger like a beautiful scent.
