Short Poems

zinnia-bouquet

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

*

dragonfly rests
for a moment
on the tree branch
long enough for me
to see each wing

*

reading the poets
of my parents’
generation
their voices
return

(SMILE, 2010)

*

timeless summer day
I don’t know how old
these plants are . . .

  1. That was my sentiment too–a winding back through time which is really still present.
All of these short poems are thoughtful and linger like a beautiful scent.
