April is National Poetry Month, founded by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996.

Earth Day was founded by Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin on April 22, 1970.

Poems from my archives:

soon the view
will change . . .
new leaves

keeping a few
winter things around
for their beauty
and days of cold winds

warmer weather
yet winter coats
still by the door

years on the roads
pass through my mind
returning home
and in the yard
first tulip leaves

the same poems
for the rest of my life
stars and tree branches
another sunrise
